Molly Morrell

About

Hi, I’m Molly.

I build products that make everyday things easier for people, and I like to be involved from the first conversation with a user to the version that ships.

I grew up in rural North Yorkshire with a civil engineer and an interior designer for parents, so I spent a lot of my childhood on building sites and a lot of it sketching. Both stuck. I learned early that good things need a structure that holds up and a reason for people to love using them.

That led me to Design Engineering at Imperial, and then to Ford Pro, where I spent three and a half years finding out what customers and dealers actually needed. I ran the research, mapped the services, and built the dashboards that showed whether the new ones were working.

Now I design and build voice AI agents at PolyAI. It's the most direct version of the work I care about: listen to real calls, find where people get stuck, change the design or the code, and check the next caller gets through. Some of my favourite problems are the unglamorous ones, like making sure someone who speaks quietly, or takes a moment to answer, still gets their appointment booked.

How I work

I start with how people think, feel and decide, because that's usually where the real problem is. I prototype early, build enough to test properly, and measure honestly, including the parts that didn't work.

What's next

I'm looking for roles where I can build products end to end: understanding a human problem, designing the experience, and prototyping and shipping the fix.
